The Town of Frankfort is located in central New York, the Mohawk Valley area, adjacent to Utica NY, 50 miles east of Syracuse and 80 miles west of Albany.

The Town of Frankfort is the 3rd largest township in Herkimer county. It is one of 19 towns in Herkimer County, the county also has 5 villages and 1 city. Our township incorporates a village of the same name (Village of Frankfort).

Our Township has a population of approximately 7500 people. The Town of Frankfort incorporates 4 different jurisdictions for highway maintenance, state roads, county roads, town roads and village roads, for a total combined mileage of 109.21 lane miles, in our township.

Trash Drop-Off

Brush Pickup and Green Waste Pickup
Will begin 5/5/2025 (one pass through town). Please cut limbs to 4 foot lengths & place in piles no more than 20' wide, 5' high, and 4' deep. All green waste must be in bags or containers.

Spring Trash Drop Off
5/9/25 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm & 5/10/25 from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Highway Garage. Someone will be on site to unload vehicles. Please bring identification for proof of residency.

ConfiData will be here on 5/10/25 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm to accept boxes of documents from residents for shredding. There will be a limit imposed of 4-5 bags/boxes per vehicle.

Summer Drop Off Schedule
In addition, there will be a dumpster on site weekly from June 2, 2025 through August 28, 2025 for people to drop household trash off between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday, with the exception of holidays. The dumpster is located in the fenced area on the north side of the highway garage.
NO DUMPING IS ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF THESE HOURS, NO EXCEPTIONS.

September Trash Drop Off
9/5/25 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and 9/6/25 from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Highway Garage. Someone will be on site to unload vehicles. Please bring identification for proof of residency.

• Construction and demolition materials
• Chemicals, oil, toxic containers
• Tires of any kind
• Household garbage
• Recyclables
• Clothing

Green Waste Pickup
Green waste pickup will begin on 11/3/2025 and will continue as the weather permits. All leaves and garden debris must be placed at roadside in bags or containers.
